EU Citizens
If you’re a citizen of an EU or Schengen Agreement country, you can travel to Greece using just your national ID card. A visa is not required for stays of up to 90 days.
Non-EU Citizens
Most travellers from countries like the United States, Canada, and Australia can enter Greece visa-free for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days. However, you will need a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
ETIAS Requirement (2024 Onwards)
Starting from 2024, non-EU visitors from visa-exempt countries must apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) before their trip. The process is quick and completed online.
Visa Extensions
If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, you must apply for a visa or residence permit through Greek immigration services.
